About

I am a quilting longarmer located in Fredericksburg TX.

I have sewn since I was a child, making a few large block quilts with sashing over my adult years (although I didn't know those terms at the time).

Each time I would take one of those quilts to be quilted, my husband would tell me 'buy one of those machine and make some money on the side', to which my response was 'thanks, but I already have a job'.

Fast forward a few years. We moved to Abu Dhabi for his career, I was able to golf and lunch with the ladies. I bought a used a sewing machine to put together a quilt with local material. We went to a quilt store in Dubai to see what it would cost to get it quilted. While there, I was chatting about prices to get my top quilted, he was chatting about the price of the quilting machine. Two days later, I had an Avante on order.

Then I got to learn to piece quilts, learn to quilt, and all that goes with it! What a learning curve that was!!!

After that, I decided I needed a much more impressive sewing machine. I had learned on a Bernina as a child, so I must need a new Bernina. The next order was for an embroidery machine. That idea of Go Big or Go Home! Now to learn to embroidery too.

Then…we went to the Houston show and I came home with another longarm. This time a Gammill Statler. I love my Sally! But I still have my Avante, Pendarvia. Penny lives upstairs now and doesn’t see as much action, but she is still living here.

It's been a journey, but I am happy with the results!
